Information we collect
Our hosting service processes connection information such as your IP address to deliver and protect this website. If you email us, we receive the contact details and messages you send. In the app, we process account and profile information, listings, messages and other content you submit, bookings, reviews, reports, and device and security information. Depending on the features you use, we also process location or search areas, calendar availability, business team membership, and payment and identity verification records.
When you choose Facebook Login, Elyaw receives your Facebook account identifier and the name and email address Facebook makes available. We use this information to identify your account and let you sign in or register. Elyaw does not receive your Facebook password. Our account deletion instructions explain how to remove information connected to Facebook Login.
How we use your information
We use personal information to run accounts, display and find local listings, arrange bookings, send messages and notifications, process transactions, answer enquiries, prevent abuse, investigate reports and meet legal obligations. We use consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests or a legal obligation where the applicable law permits and the purpose calls for it.
Location can come from the area you choose, a location you add to a listing or device location you allow. Where the app offers an approximate location option, we display the area according to that setting. You can manage your device permissions and notification preferences in settings.
Who can see your information
Other people see the profile, listings and activity you share with them or make public. When you act for a business, the owner and authorized members can see relevant business work. The other transaction party may see your name alongside the business name on messages, reviews and booking history. Business team membership keeps personal conversations and private calendars separate. Authorized Elyaw personnel may review relevant records for support, safety, moderation or legal purposes.
Hosting, sign-in, email, notification, mapping and payment providers receive information needed for their services. Sign-in and payment providers may also handle information under their own notices. The payment provider receives your card details directly. We may share records where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where information is processed
Elyaw plans to host its core service in Montréal, Canada. Service providers may process information in other countries. Applicable processing locations and safeguards depend on the services available in your region. You can contact us for details about transfers and safeguards.
How long we keep information
We keep account information while the account is open, subject to your rights. Activity and operational records are generally kept for up to two years, with shorter periods for some information and longer periods where the law requires them. Payment and tax records are kept for the legally required periods. Shared booking and conversation records can remain accessible to their other participants after deletion. Copies can remain temporarily in rolling backups.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to some uses, or withdraw consent. In the app, use Profile to request a copy or delete your account. You may also email contact@elyaw.com with Privacy in the subject. We may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to your applicable privacy regulator.
Your personal account download includes your team affiliation and membership dates. If you want access to personal information about you within business records, contact us. We consider the request under applicable privacy law.
Age, security and updates
Elyaw is for people aged 16 or older, or the higher minimum age that applies where you live. If you believe someone below that age supplied personal information, email contact@elyaw.com.
We use safeguards such as encrypted connections and access controls. We may update this policy as the service or our practices change. We provide notice of material changes and ask for consent when required by law.
